We know that paying for college can be a confusing and stressful piece of the puzzle. CEP strives to provide as much information as possible to assist students and families with the process. There are many publications and websites that provide information about paying for college. The following list provides links to several useful resources that are updated on a regular basis.
This website provides resources and information geared to community college students. The “I Can Afford College” campaign is a statewide, financial aid awareness initiative sponsored by the California Community Colleges. The campaign got its start back in 2004, shortly after the California community colleges increased their enrollment fees. The governor and the state legislature wanted to make sure Californians knew how to make college affordable, so they set aside money to create an awareness campaign about financial aid.
The downloadable Fund Your Future brochure comes in various languages provides providing details and deadlines on financial aid, grants, loans, and more.
The CSAC website provides information on the various CA State aid programs. Since its creation by the Legislature, in 1955, the Commission has continued to operate as the principal state agency responsible for administering financial aid programs for students attending public and private universities, colleges, and vocational schools in California. The Commission has never wavered from its central mission to make education beyond high school financially accessible to all Californians. The Commission provides financial aid policy analysis and leadership, in partnership with California's colleges, universities, financial institutions, and financial aid associations.
