Who We Serve
CEP works with over 200 K-12 schools and California Community Colleges throughout California, from San Bernardino, Victorville and Los Angeles in Southern California to San Jose, Solano County, Oakland and West Contra Costa in Northern California.
- Our focus is on students, families and communities who face significant barriers to college-going, such as low-income, first generation to college, primary language other than English.
- We work with underserved communities and schools, many of whom are struggling to overcome lowered expectations, lower test scores and low college-going rates.
CEP helps students overcome educational and financial barriers to prepare for and be accepted at two- or four-year colleges.
- Under the CEP umbrella, eleven different programs provide free-of-charge services to over 60,000 students annually. We are active year-round, including summer programs that provide academic enrichment to hundreds of students while they experience campus life at UC Berkeley.
- We collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators and families to transform schools, systems and communities to create a culture of high expectations and college going for all students.
