Campus Diversity

CAMPUS DIVERSITY

In addition to our broader mission to support students in whatever higher education pathway they choose, all of our programs also seek out students who dream of attending and graduating from UC Berkeley and provide them support and resources so they can become strong candidates for admission. We are dedicated to increasing the diversity of UC Berkeley and enriching our campus with the multiple intersectionalities and experiences that our CEP program students bring.

By engaging with communities, addressing educational barriers, and working with students, we aim to pave new pathways to UC Berkeley for underrepresented students. This holistic approach underpins our vision of not only shaping future leaders but also advancing social equity and inclusion, ensuring that UC Berkeley continues to lead as a beacon of opportunity, justice, and innovation in higher education.

We are consistently showing that our support to students impacts campus diversity positively. From 2021 to 2023, a total of 2,071 students were admitted to UC Berkeley from CEP programs. Every year, CEP admits and yields students to UC Berkeley at higher rates than the campus average. Many of these students are from marginalized communities that are underrepresented at UC Berkeley and almost 70% will be the first in their family to graduate from college. Learn more about our contributions to the UC Berkeley campus and the higher education lanscape in our Impact Report.
