Job title:
Assistant Director - OUSD
CEP Program:
DCAC
EAOP
Bio/CV:

Reflecting upon her own experiences to and through college, it was the support of mentors and a strong social network that helped develop Althea's sense of belonging and allowed her to not only survive in college, but also thrive in it. Since then, Althea has dedicated her work towards educational equity and increasing college access for historically marginalized communities. She had the honor of serving as the DCAC College Adviser Fellow for Boost@BerkeleyHaas in 2015-2017. Althea continued her work in college access with the East Bay and Solano County Consortium, Cal-SOAP for four years, first as a Program Coordinator and overseeing college advising services at two Oakland high schools, and most recently as the Program Manager where she managed EBSCC's large scale programs and events, such as the Cash for College program and College Information Day. Althea is a proud UC Santa Cruz alumni (Go Slugs!) where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Education. Althea also recently received her Masters of Education in Student Affairs at UCLA (Go Bruins!). Althea enjoys spending time with her family and loved ones, plays video games during her free time, and is a paw parent to two adorable dogs.
