Anna was born and raised in Oakland, CA. She received her BA in International Studies with an emphasis in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego. During her time at UC San Diego, she worked with organizations and centers which advocated for college access, retention and student success for first generation students, such as Upward Bound, OASIS Summer Bridge, and Student Promoted Access Center for Education and Service (SPACES). As a first generation student herself, Anna benefited from programs like these and enjoys being a resource to current students. She studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark and Taipei, Taiwan through UCEAP. In her down time, Anna enjoys gardening, traveling, swimming, camping and backpacking.
