Yee Leng was born and raised in Fresno, CA to Hmong refugees. He is a first-generation college graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, earning his B.A in Anthropology. Yee Leng began his passion for creating equitable access to higher education during his undergraduate career with REACH! The Asian and Pacific Islander and Recruitment and Retention Center where over the years, he served as a Let’s Rise Mentor, Shadow Coordinator, and Director of Recruitment. Thereafter, he continued this passion by providing post-secondary support services to students as a Destination College Advising Corps, College Adviser Fellow at an Oakland high school and as Program Coordinator with the East Bay Solano County Consortium, Cal-SOAP at high schools in West and East Oakland. Yee Leng enjoys surrounding himself in nature through hikes and loves to watch anime, Asian drama series, and play video games.
