CAPACITY BUILDING

Our professional staff provides technical training in college preparation for staff in schools, districts, and youth-serving organizations.  Specific areas of focus include:

  • Evaluating high school transcripts for college admissions eligibility.
  • Developing personal statements for UC and other college admissions essays for private colleges/universities.
  • Financial aid, FAFSA and Dream Act completion.
  • Theory and best practices in college preparation and working with youth.
  • General college admissions information, financial aid, scholarships, college fit and other post-secondary information.
  • Best practices for implementing CEP's student and family college-focused curricula.
  • Utilizing the Transcript Evaluation Service (TES)(link is external) to further school and district college-going goals.

CONSULTATION & COACHING

Our experienced CEP professionals provide expert advice to deepen the analysis and assessment of college-going culture in schools, districts, state programs, or community organizations.  Specific areas of focus include:

  • Developing organizational strategies to successfully implement a college preparatory curriculum (a-g course sequence in CA) for all students.
  • Designing and implementing a gap analysis to develop recommendations on ways to strengthen college-going culture at the school site, district, and state levels.
  • Assessing the strengths and challenges of a pre-college counseling program to reveal structural and policy barriers and successes.
