Saturday College is an academic enrichment opportunity for students to enhance their educational journey through workshops, college tours, career exploration, community service, and educational field trips.
In Fall 2022, Upward Bound hosted 6 Saturday College events from October to December. Students attended the East Bay Consortium College Information Day on the UC Berkeley campus, spent a day at Great America exploring STEAM in Santa Clara, CA, learned about Personal Finances through Nucleus, served the Oakland Community through the annual Turkey Drive, and increased their awareness of healthy shopping with 18 Reasons.
Fall 2022 programming for TRiO-UB also included students visiting the Bechtel Education Center to explore the community of the Deep Ocean, visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium to learn more about marine life, and ending the day with a college tour of CSU Monterey Bay.
